Taal Volcano logs 20 quakes, 9 tremors lasting 2 to 7 minutes

LUCENA CITY — Taal Volcano in Batangas recorded increased seismic activity over the past 24 hours, following a brief phreatomagmatic eruption on Thursday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said. In its Saturday morning (Oct. 10) bulletin, Phivolcs reported 20 volcanic earthquakes and nine episodes of volcanic tremor, lasting two to seven minutes.
