This page explains what information Asean Coverage ("we", "us") handles when you read aseancoverage.com and its section sites (finance, technology, entertainment, sports and culture) or send us a message.

What the sites do not have

The sites have no accounts, no comments, no newsletter and no way to upload anything. They show no advertising and run no analytics. Because of that, we do not build a profile of you and we do not sell or rent information about readers.

Reading the sites

When your browser asks for a page, it sends technical information: your internet address (IP address), the page you asked for, the time, and details of your browser and device. Our hosting providers and Cloudflare, which sits in front of the sites to deliver them quickly and to keep them secure, receive and record this to deliver the pages, to keep the sites safe and to find faults. The sites themselves do not set cookies. Cloudflare may use cookies or similar means for security.

Content loaded from other hosts

The fonts and style sheets of the sites are served by us, not by Google or any other font service. Some parts of a page do come from servers that are not ours, so those servers also see your IP address and browser details when your browser fetches them:

• Our pictures are served from our image address, delivered through Cloudflare.
• Some company announcements, and a few older pages, show a picture from the website of the company or the publisher that issued it.

Links to other sites, and the share buttons, open another site only when you click them. That site then applies its own rules.

Sending us a message

The contact form asks for your name, your email address, the topic of your message, the address of a story if you are asking for a correction, and your message. We use them to read and answer your message, and to keep a record of corrections and removals. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person is sending it and receives technical information about your browser for that purpose. Your message is sent to us by email. We keep it for as long as we need it to answer you and to keep our records, and then delete it.

Who we share information with

We share information only with the companies that run the sites for us, including hosting, delivery, security and email, and only so that they can provide that service. We may disclose information when the law requires it.

Your choices

You may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, through the contact page. Readers in different countries have different rights; we respect these requests wherever the law gives you the right to make them. You can also block cookies in your browser settings; the sites work without them.

Children

The sites are news sites for general readers and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly ask children for personal information.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect information. No system is completely secure, so we cannot promise that information will never be exposed.

Changes to this page

We may change this page, for example if we add a feature. The date at the top shows the latest version. Our terms of service explain the rules for using the sites.
