The Musician’s Notebook, the revolutionary new all-in-one learning tool for both music students and educators from Powerful Piano, is live on global crowdfunding platform Kickstarter and raising funds to bring the project to life.

As anyone who has ever attempted to learn a music discipline of any sort can attest— staying organized can be difficult. Things learned in harmony lessons that need to be referenced during music history for example can lead to wasted time and frustration in the way of true mastery. Even taking notes or attempting to write sheet music on different types of paper often means spending more time locating the information than actually learning it.

“Music education has been divided into too many books and notebooks! This is unnecessarily expensive, creates challenges keeping track of everything, and also impossible to take good notes on musical concepts. As a music student I realized these issues quite quickly and was frustrated throughout my education dealing with these issues. As a piano teacher for over a decade, I've seen my students deal with the same issues for years!” says founder and CEO James Daly on the inspiration behind the project. “I saw students neglecting parts of their work not because of laziness but because of how cumbersome it was to learn and reference concepts from our lessons. I originally made the first version of the 'Musician's Notebook' to help my students. After seeing how effective it was, I put significant time into making it as comprehensive a text as possible. Now every student I teach uses their notebook in every lesson.”

Founder James Daly is not what most might picture when they imagine a ‘classical musician.’ From a high school dropout student to a full ride UC Berkley scholarship, Daly has defied the odds in a groundbreaking career that has taken his musical talent to multiple countries, having his compositions commissioned and performed by universities and starting his own school, San Ramon Academy of Music. His company, Powerful Piano, is inspired by his own story with a mission to empower aspiring musicians to succeed without being burdened by financial constraints.
